Web Copywriter

InterAction seeks a motivated and creative Web Copywriter to join its Communications Team. The Copywriter works directly with InterAction’s communications staff, branding/web consultants, and content providers.

Responsibilities:

  • This person will create original copy, and enhance or edit current web copy. The copywriter should be able to meet established tone and style requirements as well as be comfortable working within the organization’s brand guidelines. This person will understand the essential elements of web copy writing such as word count, keyword density, content structure and placement.


Qualifications:

  • · Must possess online copywriting experience and/or be well-versed in writing for the Web (required)
  • · Manage deadlines and be able to produce quick turn-around as necessary
  • · Must be able to write and edit engaging, relevant, original online copy
  • · Understand the capabilities and constraints of online publishing; familiarity with HTML/CSS/stylesheets preferred but not required.
  • · Possess good collaborative skills to work with staff and web designers in strategic, creative brainstorming sessions that produce fresh ideas
  • · Excellent written/verbal and presentation skills

Executive Coordinator

The Executive Coordinator is responsible for complete organization of the President and CEO’s office including, but not limited to, screening internal and external calls; managing correspondence and related inquiries directed to the Executive Office, and ensuring timely responses to those inquiries; managing projects requiring the President’s attention and sign-off, including confidential work and personnel information; and, routinely working with InterAction’s Leadership Team, its Board of Directors, and its member CEOs and their respective staffs on issues that involve the Office of the President. The position reports to InterAction’s President and CEO.

Responsibilities:

  • · Facilitate communications, including managing correspondence and meeting requests, both internal and external, for the Office of the President.
  • · Support in the management of groups sustained and created by the Office of the President, such as the Board of Directors and InterAction’s Senior Advisory Council, by scheduling meetings, webinars, and conference calls; managing materials compiled in preparation for such meetings; maintaining meeting records; and working with InterAction staff in support of initiatives, projects and issue campaigns.
  • · Prepare reports and other documents, including meeting minutes, speeches, expense reports, and timesheets.
  • · Manage the budget of the Office of the President. Prepare, distribute and ensure timely approval and delivery of invoices/receipts for prompt processing and payment; and manage contract negotiations with third parties as they pertain to the Office of the President.
  • · Coordinate the combined efforts of InterAction’s staff, members, and Office of the President to achieve priority organizational goals.
  • · Work with the Special Assistant to the President on the preparation of speeches, papers, and PowerPoint presentations as needed for various internal and external meetings and conferences.
  • · Develop and maintain an organized, easily accessible electronic and hard copy filing system (e.g. chron. files, meeting minutes, issue files, organizational files, etc.). Work with the President to create an organized and efficient office system, and to update and improving filing, communication and organizational systems in the Office of the President as Interaction grows and changes.
  • · Take on new tasks, as directed by the President, to meet the needs of a dynamic and growing organization.


Qualifications:

  • · Experience supporting senior management/executive level required;
  • · 5+ years of senior level administrative experience with project coordination preferred;
  • · A Bachelors or other college degree(s) a plus;
  • · Must have excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills, with experience handling scheduling for extremely busy executives;
  • · Must exercise good judgment and discretion;
  • · Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills, including outstanding phone skills;
  • · Must be detail-oriented, proactive, professional, and a problem solver;
  • · Ability to accomplish multiple tasks and to prioritize work, and to be comfortable in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment;

Manage the development of briefings and talking points for the CEO to prepare for meetings, speaking engagements, and events; working with key senior staff, research, draft, type, and edit speeches and talking points specific to speaking engagements. Develop a mechanism to trace the various relationships established through high-level meetings or engagements, identify possible connections to InterAction’s objectives and goals, and share valuable contacts with InterAction’s leadership for possible follow up. Oversee Executive communications and handle sensitive inquiries of important constituents. Serve as a liaison, and interface with various teams within InterAction to facilitate efficient information exchange between InterAction teams and the Executive Office. Conduct research on special projects as needed by the President and CEO often on short notice. Work cooperatively and collaboratively with the Executive Office Coordinator and other InterAction staff in support of the work of the entire organization.

  • · Minimum 2 – 3 years in International and/or Domestic policy, Public Administration, or Legal fields.
  • · Strong, broad knowledge of U.S. NGO Sector, International NGOs, CSOs and NGO Networks.

Manager, International Humanitarian Security Association

InterAction, the nation's leading coalition of 160+ American NGOs engaged in international development and humanitarian relief activities around the world, seeks an experienced, entrepreneurial International Humanitarian Security Association Manager.

The Security Association Manager (SAM), under the direction of the Security Coordinator, will lead the process of creating, developing, and managing an International Security Association for humanitarian security professionals.
