Botswana – Customer Service Assistant

Job aim:
The main responsibility of the post is to support the operations of British Council Botswana through efficient delivery of customer services and provision of administration support to the customer service team. The post-holder will also assist in the administration to support delivery of British Council’s events.

The post will support functions at a standard that meets best practice customer service standards, provide accurate and timely information to the customer service team, and support the delivery of customer services through administrative duties and responding to customer enquiries.

There will be unique opportunities for the successful candidate to gain experience and develop skills in international cultural and educational relations, with possibilities for their own professional development. The post will be under the line management of the Customer Service Officer. It will be subject to a three month probation period, extendable to six months.

The ideal candidate for the Customer Services Assistant’s post should: 

 

Hold a diploma or equivalent qualification.

Have a track record of relevant achievement, this might comprise of some experience in customer service or administration.

Have knowledge and experience of relevant IT applications (Word, Excel, internet applications).

Have a high level of personal organisation and integrity are essential.

 

Remuneration Package: 

 

Starting salary will be in the range of Pula 5,490.00.

60% company contribution to BOMAID.

10% company contribution to Pension.

Bonus in December.

Sub-Sahara – Marketing and Communications Manager

Job aim

This is a new post and part of a new team designed to lead a step change in the impact and reach of SSA’s products through: professional marketing and communications (for which this post will be responsible) and programme development and delivery; ensuring our product portfolio responds to customer needs and customer facing functions are fully embedded into our programmes.

This post will be responsible for the implementation of the SSA Marketing and Communications strategy across the region; this will include the following Marcomms areas –  market research, marketing and communications, brand management, PR and media, online communications and web editorial  – ensuring appropriate functions are built into programme development and delivery.

Please note: 

This is a regional post responsible for Marketing and Communications in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA).

Post location: It is anticipated that the post will be based in Nairobi, Lagos or Johannesburg. Decision to be made by the recruitment team in discussion with the candidate.

Interviews are likely to be by telephone and will probably take place the week beginning 30 March 2009.

Botswana – Examination Services Manager

Job aim:
The main responsibility of the post is to contribute to meeting The British Council Regional and Country Objectives in Botswana through the effective delivery of UK examinations across the country, within set budgets and meeting income and candidate number targets.

The post will manage financial management systems underpinning the examination services operation .The post holder will also be expected to market and promote UK examinations in Botswana and to contribute to Strategic planning for the examination services unit.

Examination’s Services Manager

 

The ideal candidate for the Examination’s Services Manager post should: 

 

Hold a degree or equivalent qualification.

Have a track record of relevant achievement, this might comprise several years successful work experience in Marketing and they should have the ability to produce financial plans to support programmes, have ability to cost activity and to construct pricing structures. They should also be able to analyse and interpret complex financial data in order to make appropriate recommendations/ proposals to business plans/ projects.

Have knowledge and experience of relevant IT applications (Word, Excel, internet applications).

Have a high level of personal organisation and integrity are essential.

 

Remuneration Package: 

 

Starting salary will be in the range of Pula 11,400 per month.

The post will support functions at a standard that meets internal and external audit standards, provide accurate and timely information to the Resources Manager, and support the Projects management. It will take care of relations with suppliers/partners working with the entire British Council Botswana team.

The post will be under the line management of the Resources Manager. It will be subject to a three month probation period, extendable to six months.
